Inaugural event raises awareness of the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) sector
St. Louis, June 18, 2019 – Emerson (NYSE: EMR) today announced it will be a sponsor of World Refrigeration Day on June 26. The first annual event, celebrated on the 195th birthday of Lord Kelvin, will raise awareness and understanding of the significant role that refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump (RACHP) technology plays in modern living.
RACHP and HVACR organizations and professionals from the U.S., India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, Africa, and across Europe have indicated their support for the establishment of World Refrigeration Day and will participate in a range of activities to recognize the event. ASHRAE, UN Environment OzonAction and WRD Secretariat are organizing an international Webinar on the 26th June at 9 a.m. EDT titled “Refrigerants for Life: How Refrigerants Affect Modern Life”. Emerson will take part in this 90-minute webinar titled “Refrigerants for Life: How Refrigerants Affect Modern Life” on June 26, at 9 am EDT. Dr. Rajan Rajendran, vice president, System Innovation Center and Sustainability for Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions, will represent the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and will present on the responsible use of refrigerants. Rajendran is director of The Helix, Emerson’s research and innovation center located on the University of Dayton campus. He represents Emerson in its communications with various policy and industry organizations, such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, among others. He is widely recognized throughout the industry as an expert on the application and regulation of refrigerants.
