Advanced facility offers hands-on access to industry-leading technologies
Busan, Korea (December 18, 2018) – Emerson (NYSE: EMR), a leader in commercial and residential solutions, today announced the opening of its new USD 1.6 million Climate Integrated Solutions Laboratory in Busan, Korea. The advanced facility will provide a secure testing ground for customers to experience Emerson’s technologies while optimizing performance and enhancing energy efficiency within their own operations.
With rising industry demand for residential and commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems, the new facility will serve as a hub for local and international customers to interact with Emerson’s experts and technology solutions in one space. Customers will be able to conduct experiments, convene with experts and test their systems under various temperature controls and volumetric expansion, refrigerant flow rate, and super heating and super cooling calculations.

The laboratory includes testing rooms for 20 refrigeration tons (RT) and 10 RT systems that can analyze cooling and heating capacity, power consumption, air flow rate and more. The highly secured facility also features semi-explosion-proof testing systems – the first and only of its kind in Korea, to enable a more comprehensive testing experience. In the laboratory, customers will be able to test both outdoor and indoor features, including refrigerating condensing unit (CDU), air-cooled or water-cooled chiller, precision air conditioning, air-conditioner, A/W and W/W heat-pump water heater and geo-thermal heat pump.
The new laboratory is the latest milestone in Emerson’s longstanding commitment to supporting Korea’s air conditioning and refrigeration manufacturing industries. Emerson recently opened a new, USD 25 million Industrial Solutions Center in Jukjeon to enhance engineering capabilities and accelerate digital transformation for industrial customers.
